About The Revolution

The Philadelphia Revolution is a tournament team comprised of members from the Greater Philadelphia Flag Football League.  The team participates in the National Gay Flag Football League's (NGFFL) annual Gay Bowl, which takes place on Columbus Day weekend. The Revolution also participates in the Chicago Pride Bowl during Pride Weekend in Chicago.

Philadelphia is one of 18 cities from across the United States that make up the NGFFL.  The other member cities include: Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas/Ft.Worth, Denver, Detroit, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Diego, Silicon Valley, and Washington, DC.  Links to these other leagues are below.

Gay Bowl X, Phoenix

The Philadelphia Revolution is currently practicing for Gay Bowl X to be held in Phoenix on the second weekend in October.

Pride Bowl III, Chicago

The Philadelphia Revolution returns to Chicago for their second, and the third annual Pride Bowl, played over Pride weekend (June 25-27).  The Revolution has grown and improved, adding new players, gaining experience, and of course enduring some losses due to injury.   The Revolution hope to build on momentum from last year's Pride Bowl and Gay Bowl, and the first Spring League played from March through May of 2010.  The team also is excited to reconnect with friends from the 17 other teams participating in the Pride Bowl - from all across the country!

Gay Bowl IX, Washington DC

The Philadelphia Revolution sent a team to our first ever Gay Bowl, Gay Bowl IX, played over Columbus Day weekend 2009 in Washington, DC.  The team compiled a 1-4 record, losing to the eventual tournament winners, the Los Angeles Motion, and the Houston Hurricanes on Friday.  After coming short against the Atlanta Storm on Saturday morning, the Revolution suffered a heartbreaking 21-20 loss on the final play of the game to the San Antonio Diablos on Saturday afternoon.

The team regrouped to finish off the tournament on a high note, defeating the Texas Bullcats 32-0 on Sunday morning - recording our first defensive shut out highlighted by two interceptions.  The team also scored the most points in a game ever, beating out the 28 points scored against the Atlanta Woofs in the Chicago Pride Bowl earlier in 2009.
